2. Service Description
BrewForge is a web-based brewing software (Software as a Service) that helps brewers plan, manage, and track their brewing processes. Features include recipe management, inventory tracking, brew day logging, and more.
3. Registration and Account
To use BrewForge, you must create an account with accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account.
4. Free and Paid Tiers
BrewForge offers a free tier with core features. Additional features are available through paid subscription plans. Payment processing and subscription management is handled by Polar Software Inc. as our Merchant of Record. By subscribing to a paid plan, you also agree to Polar's Terms of Service.
5. Contract Duration and Cancellation
Paid subscriptions are available on an annual basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You can cancel:
- Via the cancellation page
- Via the Polar customer portal (accessible from your account settings)
- By contacting bernd@brewforge.sh
6. Right of Withdrawal (Widerrufsrecht)
As a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day of the conclusion of the contract.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision by a clear statement (e.g., an email to bernd@brewforge.sh). You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory.
Exception for digital content: If you have expressly consented to the beginning of the performance of the contract before the end of the withdrawal period and acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal, the right of withdrawal expires upon the beginning of the performance.

7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use BrewForge for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the service
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
- Resell or redistribute the service without permission
8. Intellectual Property
BrewForge and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Bernd Strehl and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Your data belongs to you. You retain all rights to the recipes, brew logs, and other content you create in BrewForge. We do not claim ownership of your data. You may export your data at any time.
9. Privacy
Your use of BrewForge is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
10. Limitation of Liability
Liability is limited in accordance with German law. We are liable without limitation for damages caused by intent or gross negligence, and for damages resulting from injury to life, body, or health.
For slight negligence, we are only liable in case of breach of a material contractual obligation (Kardinalpflicht), and in such cases liability is limited to the foreseeable, typically occurring damages.
These limitations do not affect liability under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz) or other mandatory statutory provisions.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected.
12. Dispute Resolution
We are neither willing nor obligated to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance via email. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
